and a boxing stadium. It is large enough to accommodate nearly 10 000 trainees and is a major resource for the Indian
armed forces. A ditch was also included in the design, which provided protection against fire and fighters trying to
penetrate the wall. There are six doors that give access to the fort, namely Chowringhee, plassey, Calcutta Watergate,
St Georges and the treasure door. St. Peter's Church was built inside the new Fort in 1928. It is located in prime location
